Mosaic - Honduras Single Origin
This lot is from Merlin Medina Galeas, her sister Jeny and her mom
Maria. Their story is very much a story of hard work and struggle of
parents that resulted in giving their kids a better life. Merlin’s mom
grew up in Intibuca (a few hours from Marcala) and remembers
working on her father’s farm during her December vacations.
When Merlin and Jeny were young, their family moved to Marcala and
Maria and her husband worked hard on other’s farms and different jobs
for many years until they were finally able to buy their own farm. Later,
when Merlin and Jeny finished their, they gave a portion of the farm to
each.
They have been able to use the farm to invest in their own futures. Both
have purchased an additional farm in other areas of the La Paz
department. Jeny was able to graduate university with a teaching degree
